Bengaluru commuters can now use the RBL Bank National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), issued for Metro travel, to pay for BMTC bus journeys too, as the City moves towards an integrated public transport system.

The move is part of BMTC's digital initiatives, which also include the launch of 'Namma BMTC Mobile App 2.0', a unified platform for bus and Metro travel. NCMC, a nationally interoperable card standard, lets commuters use a single card across participating transport systems. Its rollout, originally planned for June 2026, had faced delays.

The new app, unveiled by CM DK Shivakumar at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday, brings together digital bus tickets, Metro QR tickets, bus passes, live tracking, journey planning and digital payments. 

The app shows live bus locations, arrival times, routes and nearby stops, while its journey planner offers options combining BMTC buses and Metro. Commuters can buy bus tickets and Metro QR tickets digitally, along with passes such as Vistara, Vajra Gold and Vayu Vajra, using UPI and other digital payment options.
